Frazier & Deeter was established in Atlanta, Georgia and is now one of the largest accounting and advisory firms in the United States. We are an award-winning firm with deep technical expertise and an even deeper devotion to our clients.

In 2019 we opened our London office with the same values and the same approach to client service that has underpinned our success in the US. We offer a full range of tax, audit, accountancy and advisory services* to businesses in the UK backed by our brand promise of Investing in Relationships to Make a Difference™.

Lead Tax Partner - London Office

Malcolm Joy is the Lead Partner of Frazier & Deeter’s UK advisory practice. Malcolm is one of the U.K.’s leading experts in international tax matters. He led the team that was awarded the International Accounting Bulletin’s first ever International Tax Adviser of the Year award and he serves as a technical expert and frequent speaker regarding international tax matters at industry events.

His deep technical expertise, culled from 25 years as a tax advisor to multi-national corporations, has made Malcolm a resource for leading news media such as BBC news and Bloomberg regarding tax matters. He has provided insights regarding BEPS, among other topics.

Pete Hine

Lead Audit Partner - London Office

Pete Hine is the leader of Frazier & Deeter’s UK Audit practice. He has 14 years’ experience in audit at KPMG in both London and Reading. In addition, he possesses the ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification, one of the most advanced learning & professional development programmes available.

Pete is responsible for signing accounts and leading teams for UK & international entities, across a range of sectors. With his diverse range of experience, Pete serves clients with complex accounting needs.  He has extensive knowledge of various types of GAAP (UK, IFRS, US) and has significant experience of leading international teams.

Mike Whitacre

Practice Leader - International Tax

Mike Whitacre is the leader of Frazier & Deeter’s International Tax practice. Mike has over 30 years of experience with auditing and taxation in public accounting, providing a wide variety of services primarily to middle-market business clients in both the public and private sectors, including private equity backed entities.

Mike offers deep expertise to European companies seeking to expand into the United States. He is a frequent speaker at events in both the U.S. and around Europe regarding establishing a U.S. presence.

James Dawson is an experienced international business and tax advisor to growing global enterprises. His focus is on both U.S. and foreign tax planning, structuring of international operations, cross border transactions, project management and coordination of services in foreign jurisdictions.

James provides a full range of international tax and accounting services for both private and public companies. 

Sean Lager

Sean Lager

Partner - International Advisory Practice

Sean Lager is a partner in Frazier & Deeter’s International Advisory Practice. Sean provides technical accounting guidance regarding U.S. accounting standards (U.S. GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including revenue recognition and accounting for leases. Sean is the past chair of PKF’s International Professional Standards Committee and the former vice chairman of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant’s (AICPA) Technical Issues Committee, a committee involved in the U.S. standards-setting process.

Sean has been published in well-known trade magazines and domestic and global accounting publications, including the Journal of Accountancy, Chartered Accountants Magazine in Canada.

Tommy Zavieh has over 20 years of professional consulting experience, 14 of which have been dedicated to R&D Tax Credits.

He has extensive experience in addressing complex business and specialty tax needs [R&D Tax Credit, Section 199 (DPAD), Meals & Entertainment (M&E), Cost Segregation] for a variety of industries, including automotive, bio-sciences, consumer products, financial services, medical device, oil/gas, manufacturing, pharmaceutical and technology (software and hardware).
